Michael Kiefer: As General Manager of Brand Protect, Michael oversees all aspects of operations within the company. He is directly responsible for customer and employee satisfaction and that the company meets or exceeds the goals, set by the executive board.

Michael is considered one of the foremost thought leaders in understanding the broad view of the Internet and impact of risk. Over the past 20 years he has worked globally with large organizations and government agencies.  Michael is a frequent conference keynote on topics related to Internet threats related to organizations revenues, rights and reputation.  Prior to Brand Protect he held executive positions with Cisco, AVAYA, Trustwave and ADP.   Look for his new white paper "You Do Not Own Your Brand", out July 2009!

Kevin Joy:  As Vice President, Kevin brings more than 20 years of marketing experience to his role, where he is responsible for global branding and marketing, product strategy and client service initiatives. Kevin has published numerous articles and often been quoted on the topic of internet reputation management.

Prior to this, Kevin led the market strategy and program development of all Deloitte Canada's services and played a major role globally as a member of the firm's marketing, communications and business development council - most notably as a leader of its branding initiative and also providing Latin American marketing coordination.

Kevin also spent eight years with Unilever Canada and Mexico. In Canada, he built Becel into one of Canada's most successful and trusted household brands and then went on to lead Lipton's food innovation effort. While in Mexico, he was an integral part of a successful new joint venture for Unilever's ice cream business, which included franchise operations.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and an MBA in International Business and Marketing.

Dylan Sachs: is the Manager, Incident Response Team, has been with BrandProtect for over 2 years.  His experience in IT and strong customer service background has enabled him to meet the needs and exceed the expectations of BrandProtect's customers.  Dylan is the representative for BrandProtect in the Anti-Phishing Working Group (APWG) and Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST).  

Ben Bradley: wears many hats. He is marketing director for BrandProtect, managing director of Macon Raine, Inc. and a blogger at http://www.benbradley.net/ where he writes about the intersection of technology and business. His primary interests include the role of marketing on internal technology adoption, public affairs, network and physical security, collaboration, networks and groupware. Shanna Gordon: As Director, Client Services, Shanna is responsible for ensuring client satisfaction, including responsiveness to requests and helping clients to fully take advantage of findings. Over the past five years, Shanna has worked directly with Fortune 500 clients on their anti-phishing and brand protection strategies. As a member of the Anti-Phishing Working Group (APWG) and representative of the International Trademark Association (INTA) on behalf of BrandProtect, Shanna participates in a variety of industry conferences, committees and white papers. She is a thought leader on phishing industry trends and the development and dissemination of solutions to combat identity theft and fraud on the Internet. Shanna is also an integral part of the marketing team and has recently taken on the roll of the Social Media Guru at BrandProtect.

Shanna graduated from York University with a BA in Psychology and Sociology and has a degree from George Brown College in Marketing and Event Planning.

Elyse Neumann: As Director, Operations Elyse is responsible for leading the account team and ensuring client needs are established and addressed. Ms. Neumann is an expert in all aspects of online fraud and brand protection. Over the past five years she has implemented new brand protection solutions that have enhanced the company's service offering.

Elyse has many years of industry experience, and has participated extensively in round table discussions, conferences and providing expert knowledge and recommendations to clients and other fortune 500 companies.

Elyse graduated with a BA from York University and received a Public Relations diploma from Humber College.

Jamila Hunte: has been with BrandProtect since 2005 and as an Account Manager is responsible for the research and delivery of all Brand Protection Solution reports to the client.  Using our propriety software, she is responsible for locating trademark infringements that are found on the internet that may have a negative impact on the client's trademarked name and reputation.   Jamila has worked directly with Fortune 500 companies with particular focus on those in the Financial and Insurance Sector.

As part of our Brand Protection service, Jamila is responsible for the delivery of cease and desist letters for websites deemed to be infringing on the trademarked name.  She is often consulted by our client's legal counsel on strategies that will ensure that an infraction is resolved as quickly as possible.

As an active member of International Trademark Association (INTA) and a team member on INTA's Internet committee (Online Trademark Use Subcommittee), Jamila is assists in the development of policies regarding use of trademarks on the internet.  She also participates in various conferences to keep up to date on current trends in Phishing and Brand Protection to assist our development team in the creation of new Brand Protection solutions.

Jamila graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a B.A. in Kinesiology.

Rosemary Brkopac: As Account Manager, Rosemary Brkopac is responsible for the research and delivery of all Brand Protection Solution reports to the client.  Using our propriety software, she is responsible for the discovery and takedown of trademark infringements that are found on the Internet that may have a negative impact our clients' trademarked name and reputation.  She is often consulted by their legal counsel on strategies that will ensure that threats against their brand are resolved as quickly as possible.  During her tenure at Brand Protect, Rosemary has worked directly with Fortune 500 companies, and in industries as diverse as Government, Banking, Insurance, Fashion, Hardware, Chemicals, Water Distribution and Automotive.  

Over the past two years Rosemary has held membership on the International Trademark Association (INTA) Bulletin Committee. She has interviewed many of the world's most highly regarded Intellectual Property attorneys, and has covered INTA events such as the Trademark Law and the Internet Conference and the Trademark Administrators' conference for the publication.   Bulletin work has become a passion for Rosemary; in 2003 she received an International Award from Toastmasters for a club bulletin she created.  She continues to enjoy the Toastmasters experience and is a member of the Nissan Canada Toastmasters club.

Prior to joining Brandimensions, Rosemary held the position of Business Manager at Rogers Media Publishing where along with gaining experience in all areas of management she provided assistance to internal and external client consumer marketing management by providing customer support and initiating and implementing systems enhancements.

Rosemary is a Business Administration graduate of Sheridan College as well as a graduate of the E-Commerce program at Ryerson University. 

Elias Vamvakas: Elias is actively involved in the management and operations of several companies including BrandProtect where he serves as Chairman. He is also Chairman and CEO of TearLab Corporation,  Chairman of Greybrook Corporation and of Nulogx Inc.  As past Chairman and CEO of TLC Vision, Elias has received many management awards from industry and his peers:

  • Elias was named to ''Canada's Top Forty under Forty'' in 1996. An award that recognizes the top 40 Canadians under the age of 40. In 2005 he was also voted "best of the best" by his peers.
  • In 1999 he was named Ernst & Young's Canadian Entrepreneur of the Year for Innovative Partnering and Entrepreneur of the Year for Ontario in the Emerging Category.
  • In 2000, Elias was recognized by Profit Magazine for managing Canada's fastest growing company (TLC) with over 25,000% growth over 5 years.
